Situation:
I'm at work taking some money from a patron when I over hear a lady running her mouth about how my father has diabetes. This is all news to me. I know he has high sugar, but never been diagnosed. I tell her that is news to me and I didn't think she was right. She corrects me and then goes on to tell me what this means I will need to do for my father from now on. I quickly cut her off and politely tell her that I know exactly what this means and turn around and walk off.
I took off for 30 minutes to go ask my mother if they had neglicted to tell me about this and she confirms that indeed he HAS NOT been diagnosed.
[rant]Why do old people find it necessary to run their mouths about other people's business. Not to mention the fact that she isn't even spreading a rumor that is true. [/rant]
EDIT: I know other people besides old people gossip, so don't try and play that card. I was merely ranting over the fact that in this situation the lady is elderly, but this is the first time she has done so about anyone in my family. If there was any validity to her claim I wouldn't be as motivated to post this as I am.
Amused: In my situation she is old so I will not quit with the ageism. Deal with it.
