I hate their award travel program!!!

my wife has 127,000 miles earned and their saying its only good for one int'l. flight. Its Un-fv(king-believable!!! Stay away from them:|

Seriously, there are only about 6 people in the whole world who ever got a free flight from frequent flier programs.

Nope, I have used them a few times for free flights, and upgrades to business class. My brother gets enough miles to upgrade to business class on all international flights, get free Admiral's club membership, and STILL have enough left over to cover my airfare when he invites me out to CA or UT (two or three times a year).
 
I like Northwest better than most of the other airlines personally, that could be because I'm out of Minneapolis where that is about all there is....
Anyhow, I've flown for free many times, as my dad flys NW for work and builds up a lot of miles(always platinum elite), so we rarely pay to fly. Also, if you fly enough, and get the gold card you just buy coach and upgrade to first for free if there are spots open, good deal IMO.

northwest's frequent flier program has gotten much worse the past year. very few seats available for 25,000 mi, and they will try to get you to spend more miles for the same flight because the more 'expensive' seats are available. bullshit.
 
My mom got a free round trip business class flight to Japan this year from her miles.
Probably helped that we footed the entire bill for the kitchen remodeling onto our miles rewards card. 😉
