RANT: No other game has caused me such anger

:| Once I got it, I tried hard mode since people said normal mode was waaay too easy, and sure enough, I was able to do ok in hard mode. Of course, there are many instances where I died many times consecutively that caused me to yell expletives (like the part where you pop out of the water for the first time, only to be greeted by those puppies that turn into 3-headed dogs, or the spinning walkways/climbing in the hell level) But nothing has caused me to yell more crap than that goddamn ending boss.

It took me 3 friggin hours to beat aeris (learn the patterns and then being consistent with it).

Then the game crashes on me during mid-cut scene of the ending. WTF is this??!?! Now I have to go through all that stupid bullshit again?!

No other game that I've ever played..ever... has caused me to ingest ibuprofen (about 10 tablets total through the course of the game).

EDIT: UGH to think that God of War 2 is sitting right here too. Why'd I even bother buying these games? I still have to beat Assasin's Creed (put it off to beat Uncharted, which by the way is easily top3 ps3 game), Lego Star Wars (about 1/3rd way through), Folklore (almost beat it..final boss), UT3 single player campaign, beat all races in burnout, beat all campaign races in GT5 prologue, beat MGS3 (unopened), beat MGS4 (just sitting there unopened)...

sigh.. I'm getting stressed out by all these entertainment obligations. I should've owned a ps2 instead of a gamecube during college so I could've already beaten the PS2 games.

EDIT2:
for comparisons sake, I thought Zelda twilight princess was one of the best games I've ever played. The puzzles in there always made me go "ohhhh!!." The puzzles in God of War weren't difficult, but just more frustrating because you die for stupid reasons. Granded, Zelda was too easy of a game. God of War is just goddamn too frustrating of a game. I liked it until I got to the Hell level.

Yeah, I actually never beat the third phrase of Ares since I had a blackout while fighting him after one or two grueling hours of getting past the first two phases. However, you should skip GoW II. Why don't you just play on an easier difficulty?

Zelda: TP puzzles were very boring for me. I thought GoW's were better.

Here is a tip, don't play a game on hard just because someone else says it is easy. It is very clear that you were not up to the task. And if that caused you so much pain, go play Ikaruga on hard.

I was *very* frustrated with some sequences in GoW II (on medium) - Zeus button timing, turning wheels while fighting, gorgons - but enjoyed the game overall. Is it worth picking up the first? GoW II was probably the first console game I finished in years.

First time I played GoW, it was on normal until the first wave of Cerebus puppies, at which point I switched to easy. Second playthrough was entirely on normal and I did fine.

Games don't have to be mind-crushingly difficult to be fun. Just tone down the difficulty and try again, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Are you kidding me? This was one of the best and coolest games i've ever played...sure, some things are difficult, but you ARE playing on hard difficulty...

God of War I was EASY, on the hardest mode it was a moderate challenge.

God of War II was a bitch!

Honestly, I did find the Cerberus puppies quite annoying.

Reading that sentence again, he's saying he still has to beat those unopened games, not that he has beat games he has yet to open.

I didn't GoW was hard until the very last phase of the Aries boss fight. NG was way harder...but if you really want a challenge try Odin Sphere on Hard its insane.

All of the Ninja Gaiden (NES and Xbox) games give me fits of rage.
Those NES controllers were sturdy for a reason.

Play Battletoads and report back. God of War was a fun game, and is a cakewalk compared to BT's.

haha ya i know :p. I guess the main thing that attributed to my anger was my impatience and my large gueue of games that I must beat :(

Time is something that you will always have extra of. Don't stress out on the little things like God of War and you will find that you will breeze right through most of the game.

I liked the first better than the second. I'd say it's worth picking up

The only hard part in God mode was the final boss battle. The rest of the game is easy if you know how to roll and block effectively.
