I got my PS2 the day after it came out. After about 2 1/2 months, it stopped reading DVDs. Luckily I was still under warranty then so I sent it to Sony, they kept it for about 1 month and then sent it back. That was early last year. Just a couple of days ago it started doing THE SAME THING. Not reading DVD movies, DVD-ROM games, etc. Has this happened to anyone else or is my case just bad luck. I'd be interested to know how many people have had to have their PS2 serviced and if so, was it fixed for good or just a while. I know that a year in between failures isn't bad, it's just frustrating that the exact same thing happened again.
[EDIT] it's gonna cost $120 + shipping to Sony to fix it, cheaper than a replacement, but still quite a bit of coin.
