in a 3d modeling class, the class was broken up into 3 groups of 10. the group that i was placed in decided that we would model a log cabin, i really didn't have a say in it, 4 of the people in the group are friends irl and had already had this planned. they told me i was to model the kitchen cabinets and sink, not a problem. this was assigned last monday and scheduled to be due today at noon.

right off the bat when i would offer suggestions they would shoot them down and look at me like i'm some worthless stoner. (stoner yes, worthless... well i don't think so 😛)

monday (2.9) i go to class and it's decided that everyone will email their .max files to one person and he will get everything ready for class on thursday. monday afternoon i send out my files and about 2 hours later the site that i get my email from (www.doxonline.com) dropped off the face of the earth, from what i've heard its server hardware issues, regardless my email dosen't work now.

yesterday i sent out an email from my school webmail account and go no response, i sent another including all the files from my provider account (cableone.net) and again i get no response.

this morning i awake to 3-4' snow drifts in my driveway, i went out to the lakes to visit my dad and go snowmobiling with him, then planned on driving back in the morning (45 min drive) which i have done many times before. well i couldn't get out, sent another email including files, no response.. great.

they (those 4 particular people) treat me the same way in other classes... now if a teacher put a student with the highest grade in the class (me) into your group, would you welcome him and his skills or shun him away without giving him a chance.

for dumb. i'm calling my teacher here in a few min when he is out of class to see wtf is going on.
 
yeah dude you shouldn't send emails with 50 Mb files attached.

my friend got in a group he hated so much he told them, look guys. I'm probably going to flunk out of school anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me whether i flunk this assignment. don't expect a lot of help from me.
 
consider this practice for when you get out into the 'real' world... you will find that frequently you will have to work with people that you either dont like or dont like you....

And you need to learn to make it work out not go crying to the teacher or later your boss.

How big were those emails? if more than 1-2 MB you probably should be uploading them to a server and emailing a HTTP link.
 
stoners dont get any say in anything , you should be quiet and be happy that you got into a group at all. go smoke a bowl and chill out, it will all be ok.

oh i realize full well i'll have to do that, and already have. but these people don't have to be such blatent assholes.

it was less than 2 mb

or possibly, they were crashed by who ever seeded that snow storm.... someone seems out for revenge!

the kid that runs the site forgot to check his junk email account, which is now filled with something like 12,000 emails. that crashed the server, while he was bringing it back up the hdd dropped on him... atleast this is what he is telling me.

on the bright side my instructor said he noticed some tension between those 4 and is grading my part of the project seperatly from theirs. 🙂

i know they dont 🙁 ... and i don't have any 🙁 ... thats probably why i'm freaking out about this 😛
 
That sucks big time. It is a part of life though...people being jealous of you are whatever and not wanting to work with you even though they are being forced to. I'd say just try your best to deal with it and make the best out of it.

On a side note...what kind of schooling are you doing?

graphic communications, web development and multimedia are my loves, but this 3d stuff is part of the program.

i'll get over it eventually, it just amazes me that people can be such ass'es.
 
In life, you'll have to people who judge you in a manner that you think is unfair. You won't have a teacher to tell everyone to do what you do -- just take the high road... then slash their tires when the class is over. 😉
