Ok, officially, i say leaves suck. I have been outside all day raking and blowing the leaves into piles. Only to get to a point where i dont think im going to finish before dark. I guess sunday will be the same damn thing. This sucks.

Anyone else doing some crap they dont want to on their saturday? Here is your chance to rant!

Big a55 leaves, acorns, walnuts, etc. I am trying to get them up out of my yard so my grass has a chance.

The first time this season, I used my riding mower to blow the leaves into a row, which I pulled into a pile. Repeated the process 10 or so times. Worked great, took me half an hour (would have taken 10 times longer to rake them. )

Last week, I had about a 1 inch thick layer of leaves on my entire lawn. I thought my weekend was ruined. Then, along came strong winds. It was almost as if someone did the work for me. A lot of the leaves piled up near the house, forming a nice thick layer (and providing a great mulch over the plants I put in, protecting them for the winter). The rest blew away. :)

I bet I have more leaves than you, and I'm doing them all by myself. :(
My leaf blower/vac is making my job a bit easier, but it's still taking forever.

I bet you dont. I live in a place called Deer Run. Its called that for a reason. There are more trees and squirrels than i have ever seen anywhere else in the world. I can easily go take pics and show em. I also cut down some trees the other day, and i havent completely gotten that all up. I have it in a nice neat pile, but i have to go to the dump. Oh, heres another rant. My dump charges me 8 bucks to get in right... well, they also charge me 8 bucks to go in and drop off trees and stuff. Then, they charge me 8 bucks to pick up mulch from the trees i delivered so they could make the mulch. What a bunch of crooks.

You probably have me beat. I just came in from working for 5 hours in my front yard, ALMOST finished with 20ish 39gal bags full of chopped and compressed leaves. my hands are still vibrating from the blower/vac.
Is that all? I've got 31 full bags sitting in my driveway (the heavy-duty 42 gallon size), and I'm only about 2/3 of the way done...not including the leaves still on my trees.

Please note: 20 for the front yard so far. I've got at least 2 more for up there. I havent even started my back yard... and yes, there are still leaves in the trees. Also note that my blower/vac chops up the leaves and compresses them down so if you're just shoveling them into a bag with a rake, I definately have you beat in quantity. ;)

I'll see your 40 or so bags with my 954298653937937 bags from two years ago when i first moved into my house (its a half acre extremely wooded lot) and the leaves hadn't been raked for at least 15-20 years...took me 3 years to get em all up and every summer I had bags lined up and down my driveway stacked ten feet tall until I could get them to the dump...

:( my hands still have the calluses (I used two rakes, I couldnt use any blowing or mulching device because they were all wet and rotted)

Deer Run...what a small world. I am right across Hull Street in Woodlake. At least you are not in Brandermill...that is pretty much a forest with houses places in it.

yep, raked the back yard today and then cut it one last time before winter. man, what a beautiful day for November 12th!

my biggest issue was only having 1 lawn waste bag and actually fitting about 72 bags worth of leaves in it. crush 'em down

now i just don't know how the heck i'm going to get that bag closed.
