Rant - I've received more broken disks from Netflix in 2 months

I don't get what the deal is. I'm getting one or two broken disks a week from Netflix. It is getting on the ridiculous side.

I'm loving the turn around because I live virtually right down the street from a distribution center but the number of disks that I'm receiving that are severely scratched and/or broken is way too high.

In the 4+ years I have had Netflix, I have never once received a broken disc. I have only had to return 1 disc due to scratches.

You sir have BAD LUCK.

In the three years we've had the service:
* Two broken
* Two scratched to unreadable state
* 3-4 missing

I used Netflix for about 3 years and never had a single broke disk. I quit for a year and half and just started using them again about 3 months ago. I've not had a broken disc yet during this period either.

Sounds like just bad luck or your local USPS is abusive with it's mail.

Yes, because I specifically implied that this was worse than dieing of starvation when I was making a simple comparison between two services I've used... :roll:

More customers means more problem. Your distribution center probably has a very high traffic, while people w/o scratches or broken discs get theirs from low traffic distribution center. Also, maybe you belong to an area w/ asshole USPS workers. Lotta variables.

If you get into a car wreck and have your legs amputated, I'm not going to feel sorry for you because you are well fed.

Fair enough.

Edit: on a sidenote, I too refuse to feel sorry for amputees, as it is, frankly, insulting to them and counterproductive to what they need to do with their lives from that point forward.

But we digest.

Indeed we do...

Since 2000 I've gotten maybe 1 or 2 cracked discs a year, few enough that I don't bother keeping an exact count.

Bad luck or bad postal workers is my guess.

I thought I had been getting bad disks, but it turns out my DVD drive on my computer was croaking. New drive - every disk has been perfect.
