couple years ago, my grandpa bought a new computer, it didnt come with no restore cd's. I was looking around on the start menu. Hp had on there this program that was one time use only that made the restore cd for you.

Go here and type it in. You'll then have a list of all the drivers for your computer.
You're awesome. I'm too used to going to the company's site and downloading the respective drivers.

I guess this service tag thing works pretty well too.

And NiKeFiDO, obviously you haven't touched a new Dell system for quite awhile, they stopped throwing in restore CD's for a good half a year now.

My dell laptop has restore cds but its from SB. The service tag thing works well at Dell. you can look up all drivers and patches for your specific build.

you should change the title to: [RANT] I suck at the intarweb.

only problem i c is gettin drivers onto your comp, bt since your wireless internet is working this shoudl not be a problem. ALso, i have yet to see a Dell that didnt come with a Driver install CD (unless you got it used or its really old and they didnt always do that).

But yeah, the drivers are all there on dell site, just gotta find'em

No, OP is right, Dells don't come with cds anymore. They are all on the hard drive.

I got my iXPS2 about 3 months ago, and that came with a CD, partition on the HDD, AND the ability to make a recovery CD with the Dell tools that came with the computer.

Correct. I recently ordered a Dell Inspiron 6000 and 700m.
