That's awesome. So where OS X failed you in the GUI equivalent, it forced you into Terminal. 🙄

🙄 People were arguing that one was more geeky than the other, so yes.. if you're looking to geek out, then Terminal will be a positive.

There isn't anything that can't be done with a GUI.. however, I found solutions using Terminal, which in turn allowed me to understand more of the inner-workings of OS X.

I'm going to repeat myself so you slow-ass Mac kids can hopefully absorb this information between listening to your Beiber records and masturbating to Steve Jobs keynotes: Windows has an extremely powerful shell called PowerShell. It leverages the power of the .NET framework so one could argue it's even more capable than Bash. All versions of Windows since Vista come with it in the box. If you're running XP it can be downloaded from free from Microsoft.

I've used it and it sucks. I mean you can script for it just fine. But the actual program it runs in sucks.

See that's just mean.

bash is portable - it runs on all o/s - powershell does not run on all o/s - that is the problem.

i'd be interested to see .net4 and powershell functioning ports from microsoft for *bsd, linux, and osx. that would be a nice deed if they would.
