The IRS is a very efficient organization for its size. Plus, cronyism isn't an issue, 'cause who the fvck would accept a job (or one for their son) at the IRS after giving GW a fat check.

When they hold it long enough that they can actually make a profit from it in interest and inflation, they've crossed a line in my book and become a financial institution and should be regulated by the SEC...

Think about how H&R Block got in trouble for the high interest, "get your rebate now" predatory loans.
 
rebates are slow for a reason, ie they are supposed to be slow

your refund is your money to start with

you could theoretically take this to court im assuming if you can prove they made profit from your rebate.
