shouldn't your parody be a rant from your mom?

Rant:How did I deserve such a worthless son

I sent him to college and while working 14 hour days with almost no rest days (4-8 hour weekends) when my worthless husband (like father like son) got laid off as a researcher.

Even though money was extremely tight, i puts as much as i could into helping him with school housing.

As college goes on and my husband finds something else to do (delivering newspapers), and i gave him money every month to pay for housing. he got to live with a lot less worrying about money. which he promptly wasted on booze and drugs.

After college he started living at home(because he's a worthless flunky who couldn't get a job), i found a great deal for a used car from a friend, hopefully he'll use this to go to job interviews. Even though it was free, he refused to look at the car (wanted to nef on ATOT all day), so i went ahead and bought it for him anyway. I even lets him sign the name of the car under himself to save with the hassle of Car Insurance filing. He's going to get in a wreck soon due to his carelessness, so I'd rather not lose my lifesavings to a quadrapalegic.

What I don't understand is how I deserved such a worthless son? There is loads more where that comes from too, his father can't take his hands off of me.

How about you?

😉 Actually, I had to do my fair share of work for school as well. I worked two jobs every year and one job during school in highschool from age 16 to save up money to pay for college. I saved up more than 80% of that money and almost never spent it frivolously. Even still, I didn't make enough to pay for all my expenses at school.

Other than food from the cafeteria and housing and college, my budget for the first two years of college was around $10-20 a month. Most of my friends accused me of avoiding them and being a hermit because I rarely went out to do anything that wasn't free. 🙁 Things got better a little near the end of my college years, and I was able to get an apartment with some of my friends (one of which posts on this very forum).

I also work as a programmer now. And almost 60% of my money is going into some sort of savings. Approx. 20k is going into IRA and 401. And the rest is expenses, hanging out, and CDs and Savings account.

**EDIT**

And also, I don't appreciate you calling my dad worthless (even if it was a joke). He is a guy that has accomplished a lot in his lifetime. Two PHDs (Biochemistry and Pharmecology) and extremely good at martial arts. He isn't too great with money and can be a little silly in common sense sometimes, but he is a guy that will go out of his way to help a person in need. Don't bad-mouth him. :|

Both of my parents worked hard and sacrificed alot to raise me. Especially my mom who worked at one of those garment factories for over 20 years doing 12 hour shifts to even overnights if a shipment is needed asap just to keep up with bills and pay for my schooling. It's one of the contributing factors that led to her being diagonsed with breast cancer about 5 years ago. I'm thankful she's okay and healthy now and that she no longer has to worry about finances (I'm almost done paying off their mortgage so their income can be used for just utlities only and their own expenses) and have to work in that type of environment again.

Here's to you mom.

I fail to see how this is a rant..... Still, you have a great mom and so do I 🙂

I have a feeling this is a parody (sort of) of the thread RyanSengara made...

EDIT: feeling confirmed.

I am planning to quietly deposit large sums of money into my parents' account when I get a stable job and am well off myself.
