Why are the LED Siren Lights so damn bright? You cant even see the road ahead of you when they are near you.

I had to put sunglasses to even see the road. bleh

It was raining like hell, I was on 595 heading East for a bit and a FHP car was getting on, he had his lights on and it was as bright as the sun. I wanted to get him behind me but every time I tried he just accelerated next to me lol

What sort of driving do you call that?

Umm you're supposed to pull over if you see emergency vehicle lights flashing so you should have no problems driving at all.

Well, you should be pulled over and stopped by the time they're that close so it shouldn't bother you too badly. ;)

lol he wasn't behind me, he was next to me, and then ahead of me.

He could of easily drove by me its a 3 lane highway no other cars were on the road, and I went down to 45mph from 65 per the law(25mph under speed limit). But he was just hanging around then a few min later he just shut them off and got off the highway.

Tip: Don't stare at them.

duh, it was still blinding me, my sunglasses were still no use!

Personally, I'd rather you see the lights and be aware that there is an emergency vehicle running hot to an emergency. Otherwise, bad things can happen.

You could show a little respect for those that you may one day be praying to arrive in time, those that risk their lives every time those lights go on and they run code 3.

And BTW, it is just you. I pass police cars with LED light bars on all the time and I can see the road just fine.

They can be too bright, especially on a dark night with rain (causing glare on the windshield and reflecting off of the road).

Generally speaking, I'm either passing them at a low speed (they're already pulled over), or they're passing me while I'm pulled over, so it's not a problem.

Doesn't bother me and they've been that way for a while now, probably more than 2 years.

NJ police (local and state/sheriff) have very bright light bars. You c an see them from a nice far distance, even in bright sun or heavy rain.

it doesn't matter how bright they are. on the highway here in chicago, we have STUPID drivers that never look in their rear views to see the cop/sheiff or w/e, i see this all the time. those morons should have their car impounded so they learn the next time.
