I called Fedex customer service at 11:15PM EDT 3/17 regarding an overnight shipment that is scheduled to arrive tomorrow but am considering to be held. the agent informed me that the package would be held at a different location than from what i was expecting. i told him i'd call back as i wanted to map the location to see how close/convenient it was for me. before ending my call, i asked how late customer service was available at this number (1800GoFedex) and he told me 24 hrs.
I map the location and it's actually convenient for me. I get interrupted by another call and now its 1230 AM EDT 3/18. I call the Fedex customer service number, asked to speak to an agent, and get an automated message saying there are high call volumes with long wait times, then immediately there is another message saying that there are some "temporary difficulties" and that i should hang up and call back later. i've now spent that last 4 hours calling periodically. WTF! high call volumes this late? has anyone been able to reach Fedex in the wee hours of the night? i feel that this message is BS-ing me--if support is closed tell me it's closed and tell me the hours it's available so i can try back later.
i should probably give up calling, but then if the package gets loaded on the truck before i can ask for a hold i;ll miss delivery and likely won't be able to pick it up 'til Friday....i've set an alarm for 6AM to try again i guess. although my package has shown no progress in the last 10 hrs or so.
[end rant]
