I just had to get this out, or else I may break something...;)

I bought the Elsa Gladiac 920 GF3 in the Dell Deal a month or so ago... however, i was getting some crazy 2D artifacts on the desktop, and random lockups while in the BIOS and on the desktop while using it, so I RMA'ed it back to Elsa. After waiting for about 2weeks, i finally got my RMA number, and sent it off...after 3 weeks, i began to wonder what was up, so I called the Elsa RMA dept, and they said, "Oh, it will be shipping out tomorrow...you'll have it by next week"

I was mad, but I could wait another few days for it to come in.

****1 week later****

YAAY! I have a package to pick up! Small box, ups, yippie! My GF3 is back! I proceed to open the antistatic bag, and take a look at the card. I notice that there is a spot of white stuff on the PCB...hmmm. What could that be. I ran my finger over the area, only to see black soot all over my finger. Thats right, THE GF3 REPLACEMENT WAS FRIED!!! I'm so pissed right now. :|

Jeez.

Since I've never had to RMA anything, guess I'm just lucky, but does something that's RMAed come back in a retail box package or just in a bag that's in a brown box?

Let us know what their CSRs say to that.

Good luck man,

I bought my Hercules GF2 Pro OEM, but I still got warrenty service on it. In fact, when they shipped me the replacement it was the full retail boxed version!! I'm very pleased with Guillemot/Hercules RMAs.

But about your problem. I wonder if Dell would have replaced it for you. Was the card actually in a Dell computer or did you just buy it as an upgrade?

yes, Elsa sucks,
once I had an Elsa geforce2mx, it caused system hang for even not doing anything,
I emailed tech support, they said it could be my PS is not good, should use 300W ps with xxA for 3.3V, and gave me the geforcefaq.com url - what a bs, this is geforce2mx, not geforce1. - and suggested if it still doesn't work, go request rma.
fortunately, I bought it from old onvia, so I went with full refund with shipping at onvia's cost for DOA.

Another vote for Guillemont/Hercules here. Fast cross ship plus full retail box for RMAs. Was up and running with no downtime and no waiting.
