nah, its ok... Comcast has been stinking in my area for more than a month now. Called twice but only used the codewords once... man did I have mixed results

Are you on cable internet? I have been getting disconnected a bunch. I think its my crappy little hub but I cant exactly tell. Sometimes I have to restart my modem/computer to get it to work again. Other times it just works. BASTARDOS!!!

Yeah, I'm on cable, but they disrupt my service just long enough, usually about a minute to a minute 15 for me to loose all of my connections... Any chance you're in SE PA?

when you guys are connected what kinda speeds do you get? they advertise 1.5mbps but i know with some cable internet providers you can get a lot more than that

I just saw your edit. About it being Trillian. I had the same problem with Trillian. Kept booting me off. In the end I uninstalled it. Are you having problems with just Triallian or all of your connections?

Comcast just doubled my speed for free (well, for now it is free) and I am noticing a little congestion problems. I am hoping they will iron itself out.

All of my connections. Specifically a live chat program that ROXXORS called Ventrilo.... think teamspeak but with 10x the quality. It's the best for hanging with friends... if anyone wants to try it... I'd be more than happy to let ppl try it on our regular server... pm me if your interested

I was having that problem with Bellsouth DSL here in Miami since December 9th to the 28th. Constant random disconnects. They couldn't figure out the problem (gave me a new modem, ran line tests, and even changed my port at the CO). At one point I even had 3 Bellsouth DSL people in the same day within 5 hours. Then on the 28th I called Bellsouth DSL and they told me to disconnect all my phones and they ran a couple of tests and it's been working ever since. Of course I connected my phones after.

I told them to not charge me for the days my DSL had not been working and they gave me 2 months free and all the tech support was free as well. Constant disconnects is so freaking bad. If you can't connect at least you don't waste your time but when you can connect you keept trying hoping it goes away. Good luck getting it fixed.

Which is exactly why I left their service - it sucked! I'm now happy with a local cable company that has much better service.

I really doubt that you're getting a full 3 megabits though... Comcast has been teh crap ever since they brought the "upgrade" in... In raw speed, the university lan owns Comcast, but I can't put up with the firewall. Considering the reliability issues, I don't know which is worse GRRR

Proxies suck for the only thing I'd care to do that the firewall actually stops me from: Games. BF1942: DC would suck on a proxy... or mabye you didn't know that?
