Rant: Dell takes forever to ship

I ordered a Raptor HD on Monday, expected shipping date was Today, now it got delayed till next Thursday. It's a friggin' HD, how long can it possibly take?
 
Ordering hot item accessories from Dell == unreliable at best

But I've ordered four systems from them (two desktops, two laptops) and they all shipped pretty quickly. Got them next day too, since they were assembled in state 😉

Yup. Last time I ordered a hot deal on Dell (the X800), it was delayed for 2 weeks before it shipped.

they send your calls overseas but dont have anybody for customer service on saturdays what the hell is that

i was kidding. however, there are a lot of things that could have happened. delivery truck could've gotten a flat tire, flood water, etc etc etc, customs, etc etc etc.

Waaaa...I cheaped out on the support option and am getting what I paid for...waaaa!!!
 
the 7900GT deal got backed up to july, then shipped a week later. causing me to receive both a 1900xt and a 7900gt on the same day, and resulting in a flame war in the video forum

doesn't dell usually say "delivery will start in 2 weeks." even THEN that's too long of a time. I'm assuming the average consumer would like their product in under 2 weeks.

I always get my stuff from Dell next day. Only had to wait once, and it didn't really matter, since I was going on vacation the day after I ordered.
 
Uhhh, never had an issue..

Ordered my laptop once, and I remember the estimated shipping date was June 1st, but they finished well before that and instead of shipping out on June 1st, I got it on June 1st.

Similarly with my graphics card (7800GT), I ordered on Aug 13th (the day of release I think, or whatever it was.. 12th or 13th or 11th). Anyways, they delayed me to Aug 26th, and instead of shipping out then, I got it on August 25th (mybirhtday). I was so excited when I got home that day and saw a box in front of my door. I just jumped out of the car and ran straight for it.
 
Just ordered a e1505 laptop for my aunt on the 24th, it gets here tomorrow. Which beats both mine and my sister's laptops, which took almost two weeks.

Well, first Dell has to wait for their supplier to ship it to Dell. After that, Dell should have it sent right out to you. Dell is so cheap because they don't warehouse the items.
 
I've ordered a USB drive from them twice. Once it said 1-2 weeks, it took 3 months. The other was listed at 2-4 weeks, then the delivery date kept getting changed and pushed back until well past when the rebate would have been valid (est. January delivery for an August order) so I canceled it.
 
Ok, this must be what I get for sticking up for Dell support. I just log in to my account to look up the service manual for an old Latitude C400, and ALL of my Systems & Peripherals are gone. Fvcking hell, I had 100 or so systems in there. Fvcking bastards...

EDIT: oops! I take that back. Logged out and back in and they're all there! 😕 Ok, I still :heart: Dell! 😀
