Just went to the kitchen to grab some food and in the dark, something that feels like my hamster crawled over my feet. It was a frikkin' rat! YUCK!

Apparently there were complaints in this apartment about rats so some dudes from the rental office came in to install some mousetraps. Apparently they don't work well at all.

I hate to have to be the one to tell you this... but there's certainly more than 1 :Q

You can try the green poison stuff (the mouse corpses smell pretty bad when they die in a wall cavity), mouse sticky things, pour soda in a plate (i dunno if that really works), some other things i don't know about

I wonder if I could use this as an excuse to cut my rent. :)

I saw some "shadow" running away in the kitchen once, and I suspected it to be a mouse. But tonight was the first time I encountered one "live". :)

I just washed my feet and feel better. Good thing that it didn't bite me, unlike my damn hamster.

I agree with you. I don't see many holes in the walls though.

heh, thats not too bad. last house i rented we had a colony of bats living with us that would occasionally fly around and terrorize us. And our back porch roof was literally one giant wasp nest, thousands of the bitches. And my roomated was *deathly* allergic to the things. Took threats to take him to court and a code inspection that found 30-odd violations to fix it...but man that place was a sh*thole.

I found a bat in my outdoor swimming pool once. This was.. damn.. 10 years ago.

We didn't know what to do and we were scared so we poured fuel and burned it to death. It screamed like crazy. :(

we have (had? maybe) mice too. Best way to get rid of them is to get rid of their sources of food. Don't leave crumbs lying around, and don't keep food where it's easily reached. The sticky traps are the best kind.

I accidentally stepped on a mouse once in our kitchen. I didn't even notice it. I was standing at the stove, cooking dinner, and took a step back right as my roommate walked into the room. He stared down at my feet and said "WTH!" and I was like "what?" and then I moved my foot -- I had stepped on a mouse! Just barely with my heel. He was kinda crippled but still alive. We threw him out in the grass.

Hold on, maybe it was Master Yoda! :Q

On a serious note, just ask your landlord to do something about it - after all he/she is responsible for such things no?

I would think so. Not 100% sure though.

After all, I did pay some extra premium as this place has been newly renovated and all. Mouse was the last thing I expected.
