WTF? Why don't more places get Widescreen and Full screen version of movies? Who the hell wants to watch Fullscreen movies (besides a bunch of you people and a majority of the USA)??? Fullscreen sucks.

RANT OFF

because foolish j6p (joe six pack) doesnt know any better. "foolscreen is better than widescreen, cause i hate dem black bars!!" ugh.

I had the hardest time explaining to someone the other day, that you actually see more of the movie in widescreen. They were convinced that the black bars cut off the top and bottom of the image.

Who says I have a 4:3 TV?

I do, but I didn't say... you can see more of the action and more of the scene in widescreen versions. They are far superior, IMO.

you'll have the last laugh when they buy a widescreen tv, and they get the gray bars on the sides on the screen. you thought the black bars were bad?? the bars on the sides are worse.

I really cannot tell the difference between the two becides for the fact that everything is smaller in widescreen and I have to squint harder to see.

Because pan & scan sucks major ass.
Preach it, brotha!

I just love watching fullscreen, and seeing one person having a conversation with another who is off the screen... All the while knowing that you ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE OTHER PERSON.

Or how about when you do see the other person, only it's just a body part, like an ear...

I've now started to hate the Pan and Scan versions of movies, it just looks unnatural.

If you can't tell the difference, you haven't done a comparison.

Do a side by side comparison and you'll be astonished at the difference. Rent a DVD (such as Monsters Incorporated) that has both versions on the same disc. You'll never watch fullscreen again. I guarantee it.

When I was contemplating a laserdisc player, doing exactly this with Jurassic Park sold me on the Laserdisc format.
