WTF, what is the difference between "font" and "text" ? Why did they not stick to one ?

AFAIK - Font is a font-family of usage, if the browsing system doesn't have the exact font to match, it matches the next closest out of the family to provide adequate results.

So text is more of a general term and font is more about hoe it looks ?
