RANT: CompUSA employees are stoopid!

So, I just dropped by my local CompUSA to pickup a SATA-to-IDE converter/adapter.... but I couldn't find them anywhere in the store. So, knowing I shouldn't bother, I gathered up the courage to ask one of the employees where they were located.

Well, it took me about 5 minutes to explain what I was looking for... and why I wanted it. (recover some files off a SATA drive). He expressed to me that he has never heard of such a thing and had no clue "why anyone would need something like that." So, he ask two of the guys in the "Tech Shop" if they existed... both of whom said "No, that doesn't exist."

Needless to say, I got home, found an example on Newegg of exactly what I needed and called them back to politely inform them that these crazy SATA-to-IDE devices do exist!

PS- Sorry to any _smart_ CompUSA employees I may have offended.

5 things...

1) You can't rag on someone's intelligence and use the word "stoopid" in the same post.

2)This is CompUSA you're dealing with.

3)This is CompUSA you're dealing with.

4)Did you pronounce it SATA instead of S-A-T-A?

5)Why did you call them back? They get $8 and don't give a flying fvck.

I went in trying to find thermal adhesive. I couldn't find any so I asked an employee if they had any, he pointed me to Artic Silver. I explained to him the difference between thermal compound and thermal adhesive, but he didnt seem to understand. Ive found that one of the managers is actually quite knowledgable.

Congratulations. You remind me of the guy who came in asking me for a DHD15 cable. Only after he told me, VERY condecendingly, that it was a VGA cable, I grabbed one and shoved it at him.

That being said, CompUSA staff seem to be real dumb.
