Probably the West side and you have one of the "premium" insurers as your rate still seems on the high side. Or is it also because the policy is in your name rather than your parents? Are you getting all discounts you could qualify for?

And I'm not so sure getting an out-of-state P.O. Box to get a lower rate is a good idea; if it became necessary, filing a claim could become a problem. Now if you just want insurance because it's responsible and required by your state to operate an auto, and you're a careful driver, then I guess that's saving $$ is the way to go.

<-- Turned 25 and rates dropped from $600-something to $498/6 months. Not a big deal, but it's still money. Geico seems cheapest, BTW.

This is a very bad idea. Your insurance company will likely deny any claim you file on the basis that you defrauded them, obligating you to hire a costly lawyer to defend yourself if you are at fault, not to mention the cost of a potential judgment against you.

Oh well. I turn 25 month, and get married a month after that. So that should help :)

Oh, and I live in Iowa and that helps out astronomically as well. Some of the lowest car insurance premiums in the nation.

This wouldn't be with state farm would it? They jacked mine up over $100 last year, I went and got another insurance company(GA Farm Bureau) to do my home and my three vehicles and also a mobile home. probably saved like 600 a year. I'll take it anyway I can find it.

Call up a Colorado agent and see how much it is to insure here, then you will stop complaining about what you pay alltogether. ;)

They wanted $1400/6mo on my 99 Z71 at Allstate, $1500 Statefarm and Farmers/Progressive you don't even want to know. (Perfect record, over 25yrs old)

I just recently got a P.O. box in Saratoga, WY and now pay $918/FULL YEAR. :D

I'm insured with 2 cars (2001 BMW and 2002 Accord SE), Full coverage, 100 or 500 deductable :(, only paying $678/half year. am over 25 and got a degree in engineering(professional discount, anti-theft devices on both cars (Lo-jack), multi car discount). My rates were much lower before I added my girlfriend to my plans <----new driver :(

Currently going through Mercury Insurance Group. give me a call and see what they can do.

I would like to point out I was paying $217 a month on my truck. over $2300 a year. My rates never went up, and actually went down when I turned 21, despite the fact I have been in 3 accidents with injuries. ( I was not at fault in any of them)

This is with American Family in IL. *shrugs* Geiko quoted me $3700 something a year.

It's not less. The total for the two cars is more. But with two cars the payment on each car is less because you get a multi-car discount with most agencies.

thats how its supposed to work, but thats not what rossy said
