RANT: Cancelling home phone service.

This afternoon I called Rogers to cancel our home phone service. A simple task, correct? Apparently not. It took me nearly thirty minutes and I was transferred no less than four times. My question: If I was transferred four times, what are the other three individuals that transferred me being paid to do?

At least their first language was English and the CSR's are all based locally.

1st CSR - handles High speed internet cancellations
2nd CSR - handles cable tv cancellations
3rd CSR - Didn't want to talk to you.

Do you think all bureaucratic processes are unplanned? The more times you are transferred, the more likely you are simply going to give up. SOP for most government and corporate offices.
