Im at work, hungry and my co worker decides that he wants Boston Market for dinner. Fine, i havent been there in like 3 years, but I could go for a Chix Pot Pie and a Salad.

So I go there, arrived at 9:18pm.

They have no pot pie, said if I wanted to wait 15-20 minutes they would get one out of the freezer. They had one chicken caser salad, which looks like it had seen better days. So i figure let me get a 1/2 chicken dinner, as that should be fresh. Then when I ask for my sides, they have no mashed potatoes, no green beans, so I had to get stuffing and roasted potatoes.

When I asked the manager why they have hardly anything out, he said "hey man we close at 10pm, we dont make whole new fresh batch of foods after 9pm because it isnt that busy"

That is ridiculous. So basically, if you want BM and it closes at 10, you should go before 8pm to get what you want. How is this chain still in business???

Cliffs: Went to B market after 3 yrs.
Got there 45 min before closing
They hardly had any food available

the Boston Market here... I think they take extra time to train their students to put as LITTLE food on the plate as possible.

Last time I was there, they actually took green beans off one of the plates... I guess they thought 11 were enough.

Still, if I am really busy, it will go and pay $8.00 for a kids meal sized dinner.

I have never been to a Wendy's or McD or BK where they have told me they don't have x food, no matter how close it was to closing time.

Good luck with that.

That's reasonable to expect of buffet type places, where making a whole tray of food before closing is wasteful, but certainly not of regular chain sit-down restaurants

Email them from their website. You'll probably get some free coupons...

They decide they'd rather save the $10 in wasted food and lose $100 in business from pissed off customers...

Boston Market used to be good. I used to like it until I found out what happened behind closed doors as my old roommate used to work there.

I'm a simple man, but I'm assuming that it is by not making a bunch of food right befor ethey close since it will mostly end up in the dumpster.

Yes, but at hte same time, go during lunch and you get out quick. Go at a time that it's not busy and it can take 5 minutes.

Depends on the franchise though. Some suck, some are awesome.

Boston Market is crap. I think they had one customer a day when they had one open in my town outside of Houston. BM lasted about 5 months here. But when I lived in Miami, it was crap food there too. So.....

Boston Market sucks.

I used to like Boston Market, until they went bankrupt. Then McDonalds bought the leftover company and made everything "McFood". Then they figure you like paying $10 for a puny sandwich, side and drink.

No way, Jose.

BM:

What time did you go?

Every single chicken place will have very low amounts of chicken after 9pm. I worked in the chicken biz as a manager. Its to costly to keep a lot of chicken up after nine because its not likely to sell.

Typically at a busy chicken resturant they will have 24-32 pieces(6-8 of each piece) at 9pm and not cook again unless they run out. A slow place will only keep 4 of each piece after 9pm.

Ive had jackasses come and order at 9:59, and said they would wait the 15 minutes for a 10 piece to cook.

As for them not having certain sides, well its not like they make them in small batches. Even a half batch will have ALOT of wasted product leftover if they made it at nine. Honestly though its poor management if they didnt make enough. Usually you can determine the amount you need based on your avg daily sales.

Costly to keep them up? I would hope they are already dead :)

Boston Market, chicken places, stuff that serve mash potatoes etc, make them in huge batches. Even a half batch is typically ~50 regular servings.

Heres a word of advice to people. Only go to chicken places at 10:30am to 1:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm, or your chicken(with bone) is going to be ~3 hours old in most cases.

Trust me when I say this because I was both a fry cook and a manger at a chicken shack.

Another note, the amount of chicken these places go through is MIND BOGGLING. We were going through ~3000lbs of chicken strips, ~1500lbs of chicken pieces, 320lbs of gizzards and 320lbs of livers, a week.

Yeah, I dont eat chicken.

When Hurrican Rita hit our two stores ran out of food, then again so did every other fastfood place in the town.

That is an extenuating circumstance.
