What the hell is up with this friggin' online crap? I played online, I'm a level 8 on B.net and I always manage to be on a team of people that are like level 2,3, or 5, or some rediculously low number while the other team has like a 7, an 11 and a 4. I always get stuck with crappy team mates.
This afternoon I was playing WCIII with a guy and he thought it would be cool to run all of his whisps into the enemies base and build a bunch of ancients and then attack with those rather than creatures... admittedly it did work for a while, and then they ended up dying and he wanted me to cover his ass for making a stupid decision. Then just now I was on a team of 3 and one of my partners decided he was going to upgrade all of his stuff and go for flying creatures before he'd create any defense, again, hoping that us team mates would help him. The likely-hood of winning two teams vs. 3 isn't very good, so I hung him out to dry. I have my own base to take care of, if you can't take care of yourself, I can't do it for you is my theory. So after they mauled his base and there was nothing but pixie dust left, my other partner decides that this army that just ran over our other partners base, he's going to take on by himself and runs into the oppositions base, in the meantime, he's having towers shoot at him and the enemy is coming up behind him and pushed him into their base and depleted his troops to nothing.
So I'm sitting there with a bunch of creatures nearly maxing out my upkeep and I'm the only one of my two team mates that has a slight possibility of survival, then my team mate has the balls to say
him: "Build up quick, watch the counter"
Me: "I am built up"
Him: "why didn't you help me?"
Me: "you ran off on me! you didn't tell me you where attacking!"
Him: "well get over here, I have no troops"
Me: "Screw you, I didn't waste my troops doing something foolish in a 2v3 situation"
then they proceed to attack his base, so me being the kick ass cool guy I am, went and nearly demolished one of the oppositions base while they where busy taking him out. Unfortunately 3 teams can take out one base faster than I can take out one on my own, and they came to their partners aid (Unlike my team mates who repeatedly hang me out to dry) and mutilated me. The guy that I was playing with hadn't left the game yet and was talking to me saying stuff like "You're stupid... you suck" my only reply was that I was the only one left on the team, Had I not attacked, I'd still be alive, who knows for how much longer, but I would have been. Then I told him that he absolutely stenched at the game and should get some more practice in before he starts playing online with people who are in it not only for the fun, but for the competition... wins mean stuff on B.Net. He laughed like the idiot he was and left.
I can't stand that I get stuck with stupid partners. Tell your friends that if they're going to play online, at least make an effort to use some strategy and communication. Half of my losses probably account for stupid team mates. They die as I survive and then there is no way that I can take on 3 at once. Admittedly, I've left people because they made stupid decisions, but I'm not going to make another stupid decision and waste my army trying to protect someone who obviously doesn't know what they're doing anyways.
I know I'm going off the deep end, this is just a game, it's just a bit frustrating that people are like that. I have to stop focusing on wins and focus on fun.. there is a benefit to all this... I find myself getting a ton better because my team mates suck, I last longer every time that they screw up, because I'm bailing them out most of the time.
