Okay, so I had Project 2003 Standard being sent to me from Microsoft, and it was sent overnight...

So I checked the next day after getting back from a client's business and there was nothing, figured it was delayed.

The next day, still nothing, so Saturday I contacted MS.

MS mailed back on Monday stating that the item was delivered and provided full tracking information.

I checked the tracking information and it was signed for, but not by anybody on this block, and after checking with the town manager, not by anybody in this town.

MS is being anal and stating that it is Airborne's responsibility, and Airborne is giving me the run around...

Any suggestions what to do other than put the smack down on them?

Update: The DHL driver just stopped by and was very apologetic, stating that he does not remember this location and may have mis-delivered the package. He told me to call Microsoft, tell them I spoke with him and that they should resend the software.

I am on hold with Microsoft now, wondering how loudly they are going to laugh in my face when I tell them that the driver said to reship the item.

Second Update Microsoft has no desire to reship stating that the parcel was the responsibility of DHL/Airborne once it left their location. The manager at the local DHL depot states that the status was changed to lost/stolen and to call the Claims Department.

I called the claims department where I got my ear chewed off about how it is not their responsibility and how the claim process takes 30 to 90 days. I was also informed that their limit of liability is $100.00. Perfect for a $600.00 piece of software.

They will mail a claim form (by US Mail, won't even overnight it through their own service) that I should receive in 7-10 days, then will "investigate" matters. Mailing me a check for what their adjustors deem correct if the investigation shows error on their part...

Wheee.

See if MS and Airborne will do a three way call and try to get supervisors involved. I had a shipment from Eyesave.com that just got "lost" and UPS said a tracer would take over a week or even longer to resolve. I was going to the beach in the next few days, so there was a reason I paid for two day. I got a supervisor from UPS and Eyesave.com on the phone. UPS magically found my package after I asked them if they would give me a next day air package for free from Eyesave.com. The package was dented and torn up(obviously got kicked off the belt or messed with at sort) and I posted pics here on AT. My sunglasses weren't harmed though. Sometimes it takes a little arm-twisting. Be polite but firm and you shall have results.

I've been using Airborne/DHL almost exclusively for the past year. I've shipped close to 300 packages and have only had ONE late shipment (which they credited me back for). Other than that, they're cheap and fast. No complaints from me.

Thanks Mill

I will try to get a 3-way call going shortly and hopefully that will clear the problem up.

Keep in mind that Airborne will drop a package at your local post office if they can't deliver it directly to you sometimes. I've had to deal with unfortunate situations like that, just make sure you bust on whatever Airborne rep you're talking to.

Ditto.

Well, except the year, 300 packages, late shipment, and credit part. ;)

They have always delivered packages to me much faster than UPS.

I have recently started using them to ship as well, because it is cheaper than UPS. Only gone through a few packages, but no complaints yet.

That's only if you have something shipped to you using the Airborne@home service. I think Amazon uses that for some music CD's and DVDs. Airborne ground delivers the package to your local post office, then the post office delivers it to your house as if it were regular postal mail.

AB/DHL does a very good job for us. We receive and ship several thousand packages a year with them with relatively few problems.

DHL sux! I bought something from a company that uses DHL 3days ground, they shipped the item last friday, and I guess DHL used air to ship the item, so it got to my closest airport monday morning, and it has been sitting there for the last 30hrs or so. I guess they won't deliver it until wed even the package is here monday already.

I sent a defective laptop back to dell with a prepaid AIRBORNE pickup. Of course, Dell said they never received it and Airborne said they delivered it. Guess who paid for a 1200.00 dell laptop and has nothing to show for it.

ME!:|

This was over 3 years ago, and the pain is subsiding- but it still sux
