i have suncom/ATT with the national plan . $35 for 500 minutes each month. The normal price is $40 but since i sign with them under the new plan, i get a $5 discount. Got my bill today, it ended up to be $47.04.

here are the charges.

E911 TECHNOLOGY AND LNP FEE $1.50
VA SPECIAL REVENUE ASSESSMENT RECOVERY $0.15
UTILITY USE FEE $1.85
UNIVERSAL SVC FUND $1.07
USA:FEDERAL EXCISE TAX $1.25
VIRGINIA:911 $0.75
HENRICO:VA LOCAL UTILITY TAX $3.00
---------------------------------------------------------------------

$9.57 for freaking taxes

that's like 27.34% taxes.

Total bill suppose to be 44.57 but i don't know why i'm beeing charged 47.04.

I'm stuck with them for another year. :(

How much do you guys pay for taxes and what carrier?

Verizon ... get a 21% discount every month... and it's all back with the taxes. Same with Sprint when I had them... and a 25% discount. :|

A lot of those charges are probably not taxes.

Cell companies in canada charge a $6.95 'network fee' which they pretend is a tax. It isn't - it's just a way to restructure the bill so you pay more.
