It also sounds like Newegg is just waiting for you to provide them with payment so they can ship your stuff. Sounds fair to me and not really their fault. I'm sure they'll be happy to ship once you provide them with proof that you can pay (valid credit card information, Paypal funds, cashier's check, etc).

You didn't read any of my follow up posts, did you?

Anyway, I just got confirmation from PayPal via phone call. They verified that the funds WERE transferred to Newegg's account on the date of order, which was 24 Oct.

I've stopped using Newegg, mainly because there are better deals to be had elsewhere. Namely, the FS/FT forum :D

Just an update. After having to file a PP claim against them, Newegg finally got around to looking for the money and 'lo and behold, found it. Date of original payment was indeed the order date. They issued me a refund today. Now if they only did this when I originally called to find out what the deal was with my order, none of this would have had to happen.

It makes me wonder if there's an issue in the system that handles PayPal payments?

Aside from solving yer other CC issue, rather than using such "direct" PP transfers, consider using PP debit/ATM card as a MasterCard for transactions with companies (resellers) to avoid such problems. Prolly less chance of being dicked around with ye olde bank/CC system as intermediary. Leave PP fund transfers for transactions with individuals (also preferably from PP account though). This modus operandi limits account access, chance of confusion and denial. Additionally, the PP address(es) which will be used for CC verification are EZ for the user to change, correct or add to as necessary rather than calling a bank and risking miscommunication or data entry error. Likewise, the user maintains as complete as possible online access to the electronic "paper trail".
