You have the information in the opening post, with that information would you consider contacting CPS?
Its a clear cut question.
Give me your opinion on this.
Family has 3 kids ranging in ages from 2 - 6 years old. The 6 year old is sick with vomiting and then diarrhea. The vomiting stops after 1 day, and then goes to diarrhea. This goes on for about 3 days.
Instead of keeping the kid home, what do the parents do? They take the family along with the sick kid to a restaurant.
The parents do not want to take the kid to the hospital because they are supposed to be going to a parade over the weekend.
The kid finally gets where he can barely walk to the bathroom, its only then the parents say "maybe we should take him to the emergency room". ER nurse tries 4 times to start an IV, finally gets an IV going, child is admitted for overnight.
While in the hospital, I do not think the doctor does a stool sample. What doctor does not get a stool sample from a child who has been vomiting for 1 day and diarrhea for around 2 days? I wonder if the parents were honest with the doctor as to how long the child had been sick?
Here we are, almost a week after first symptoms and the kid is back at the doctor "again" today.
I am a little pissed off about how the parents are taking care of this child. But at what point does something that should not be any of my business become my business?
If you were in my situation, would you call child protective services?
This is not an anti-vaccine thread or troll thread.
~ EDIT ~
The kid is much better today, no vomiting or diarrhea.
I can't say I've ever known of a doctor asking for a stool sample of a kid with a couple day bout with a stomach bug.
Most of those are viral and just need to run their course.
are these your poor lazy friends? maybe it's because they got the flu shot? I think you should murder them all; put em out of their misery, and ours
Yep.
When you don't have children, you think you know everything and are appalled at how everyone else raises their children.
The flu shot does not and can not make you sick.
Yep.
When you have your first child, you go to the doctor for every little thing and are assured you are doing the right thing. Then you get the $300 plus dollar bill for going to the ER and having the doctor give pedialyte to your baby.
When you have your second child, you are still cautious, but remember from the first child and only go for mildly severe issues.
By the time the third child gets sick, you just write it off as normal crap and only go if their arm turns black or they are vomiting up blood or an eye is hanging from its socket.
