I had you try a few things to fix this:

1. hold down the left shift while inserting the disc

2. Change the DMA setting
1) Right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties.
2) Click the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
3) Go down the list and find IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
4) Double-click on Primary IDE Channel.
5) Click the Advanced Settings tab. 6) From the Transfer Mode drop down menu, select DMA if available and click OK.
7) Repeat steps 4-6 for the Secondary IDE Channel.

3. Turn off Auto Insert Notification.
1) Click the Start button > Run.
2) Type in the field: gpedit.msc and click the OK button.
3) Highlight System from: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System.
4) Highlight Turn Off Autoplay.
5) Right-click and select Properties.
6) Click Enabled.
7) In the drop-down menu next to Turn off Autoplay on: select CD-ROM drives. 8) Click the Apply button and then OK. You can close down all opened windows.

None of those helped you so I told you I was going to post this on our website with instructions to include the dxdiag info:
We need to further diagnose your computer. To do this we ask that you do the following:
1) Click on the Start button > Run.
2) In the box type: dxdiag
3) Click the OK button.
4) DirectX Diagnostic Tool will open, click the Save All Information button at the bottom.
5) Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop. NOTE: Skip to step 10 if you are already logged in to your Activision account

6) Login to your account at http://activision.custhelp.com.
7) Click My Stuff and then click Questions.
8) Find your current incident and click on it under the Subject column.
9) Click Update Question.

10) Under "Attach Additional Documents to Question" you will see a Browse button. Click that and browse your computer for the Dxdiag on your desktop. When you locate the file, double click on it.
11) Once the file appears as attached, you can now enter any additional information about your Incident in the "Results and/or Additional Information" field.
12) Click "Submit Update to Question" to send the Dxdiag

If you have any other issue please contact us through our website.

You called and said after you install the game it is asking you to insert disc 1 and you have disc 1 in the drive.

:>end rant

Not everything can be fixed RIGHT AWAY, OMG I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME NOWZORZ!!!!! Sometimes you've got to be a little patient. The CD check is required, in large part, to try and thwart pirates. It doesn't work, they know it doesn't work, but they've got to try SOMETHING. Yeah, it sucks that he couldn't play the game he bought, but they're trying to find a solution. A wee bit of patience (even if it took five days) might be in order here.

A) Post very confusing

Dear god, you're communicating with a real person...use correct english. There is no need to use abbreviations which make you seem retarded. Yes, I know it's not the original poster.

Edit: Changed some wording so my post is gooder. ;P

Why be patient with your $50+ product when you can fix it in under 3 minutes?

That's not really my point. My point is the guy bitching out tech support because they didn't fix his problem right away and saying he was going to return the game. If the guy's too dumb to know about cracks, I kinda think he probably shouldn't be gaming anyway. 🙂

True, or this INSANELY hyped up game should work out of the box.

I have no idea what the OP said. I gathered that (I think) he's having a problem playing doom 3? There is a common bug where it will ask you to put in your play CD despite the fact that it's already in - I experienced this myself. Some googling turned up that it's a very common bug and that ID tech support has been suggesting that people use a no cd crack  At any rate, said crack can be found at megagames dot com under game fixes. Doom 3 is a great game 🙂
