I just started my summer internship at Raytheon and I love the job and all but I hate the commute from UCLA to Pasadena and back:
Yesterday: when I'm going back from pasadena to UCLA, the freeway i took from UCLA to Pasadena was 134, going back...it's labeled 210. I know absolutely nothing about freeways so i get onto 5 south and keep going down till I see the 405 sign. I didn't know which one to take and 5 south was labeled Los Angeles (which i figured out a minute after i took it that it was the wrong), so I take that one instead...BIG MISTAKE...I have to drive another 10 miles before I even find an exit to take so I can go back the other way to take the 405 south =P Takes me 1.5 hours to get back to UCLA.
Today: My job actually had me in another building a few block away from their main building which they had given me directions for and so I go looking for my building but I can't find it. I drive around in circles for half an hour before I get pulled over by a cop because I didn't yield to oncoming traffic when I made a left turn. Now i've gotta go to traffic school. :| (Yes I did find the building after going back to the main building and asking for directions).
Ughhh i hate the commute, but at least I like the job. My boss is pretty cool and lets me come in whenever i want (says I'm on the honor system for 40 hrs/week) and people here are in general really nice. Nobody really my age that i work with...but nice people.
