It's about fucking time. Yes, he was a fabulous player in his prime...but last year showed that his heart just isn't in the game any longer.

i take it there weren't any teams interested in him for the price he thought he was worth.

I'm a Titans fan and was kind of irritated that they paid for him and didn't make him work. I guess he was just chasing the offer for another season to pad his wallet...

He definitely had talent when he was young and had something to prove....but once he got that chip on his shoulder, I lost respect for him....ohh that and him playing for a cheating team like the Pats! :p (sorry, couldn't resist)

His heart was never truely in it. He was a selfish player who ran half ass routes when he wasnt going to get the ball and rarely blocked downfield. A bad seed that had too many chances in life. Glad he never got a ring.

I am listening to the ESPN 980 here in DC and they were just arguing about how good he was in the top 10 list and one of the hosts has him at #3

There is no doubt that he's headed off to Canton and will go down as one of the best ever.

this is a shame, really... all the talent in the world and definitely could still put up some numbers this year, but previous posters had it right, he simply wasn't into it for the past couple of seasons. and boy when his head isn't into it - it shows

Wasted potential. Imagine how great he could have been if he wasn't an unmotivated pothead. He would have passed Rice.

I don't buy it. 2010 was a weird year for him, but he was fantastic in 2009. I can't believe the Pats would take a shot at Haynesworth but not Moss after what he did for them.

Who was #2? I don't know if I could name 2 better receivers all-time.

Randy Moss is probably the most physically talented receiver to ever play in the NFL. His attitude prevented him from turning those skills into the best receiver ever - but he really was incredibly talented. His speed, height, leaping ability, and hands made him near unstoppable.

His attitude problems aside, I for one enjoyed seeing him play, and am sad to see him retire - this despite the fact that he had a permanent beef with the Cowboys and burned them bad every time they played.
