randomly play videos through Roku?

I basically want to emulate watching TV with shows I've already ripped to my NAS. I run Plex already but it doesn't seem like there's a way to randomly play videos in any way (and I preferably would like to play randomly from a playlist). Is there any way to do this using anything available on the Roku? I'm not tied to Plex in case XBMC offers this.

I also don't think anything is different on the Fire TV as it should be the same apps, but I wouldn't mind getting one if things are different on that.
 
Doesn't Plex have a queue feature? iirc you create it on the server and then clients can access it. But not sure if you can randomize the play...
