I remember the first time I played that. Someone walled me in and then set up spike throwers around the walls.

I highly doubt that. What if you were in the middle of a wedding reception and at the table with your parents and grandparents?

That's how his talent got started.

What does it really mean though to be a great player at the newbie map though?

I guess in general there many people are overestimating their incredible game skills, although there are alot of computer nerds here so I guess it is somewhat believable. Personally I don't consider someone an expert at a game unless they have actually won money playing it. TBH I can't really think of anything I am "ridiculously" good at except maybe some completely obscure things that few people have ever even tried before. Like on Age of Mythology and Empire Earth I had alpha and beta versions and made random maps for them, so for a few weeks I was the best non-payed maker of random maps for those games or something like that.

This is a useful skill.

Here's my list of useless things:

I'm very good at starcraft.
I can blow spit bubbles.
I can twirl my pencil in my hand in different ways.
I can fold the skin above my eyelid without touching it.
I fall into a half-sleep trance during class without making it look obvious.

Oh the things you learn in college...

I have beaten 2k players on BF. Newbie map? only if you play like a noobie. Last BF game I remember (like a month ago) The fight started from minute 1 with villiager fights, then to feudal tower then castle age fight I ram his castle while putting my own. He imperial'ed faster than me he almost killed me in imp, but my viking champs + 10 onagers held vs his mayan army. Added some siege rams and game over.
I play all maps, random, arabia arena, conti, land nomad, whatever..
The reason I say it's a useless talent is precisely because I have not won money. Because then it would become useful :p I have played age: conquerors for five+ years online.

Both hands or just one? I have the same thing so I guess you and I are meant to be together, no? :p ;)

I can flick my pen/pencil, but my left hand is slower than my right hand. Good for killing time or times when I'm thinking and can't get anything down on paper.

I'm very good at doing nothing.

EDIT: I'm also equally good at wasting time.

You know how you do that thing where you put your hand on a table, and stab a dagger between your fingers quickly? I can do that really well with my eyes closed.
