Random system lock up

I've been experiencing this problem with my Windows 7 machine for a while now, and I'm pretty much fed up with it. Randomly my pc locks up and I can't do anything but reboot. Some days it won't freeze at all, while others it happens multiple times.

MB: Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2
CPU: FX-6300
RAM: 8GB Samsung miracle memory / 16GB Kingston 1600
GPU: Sapphire 7850 (1GB) / EVGA GTX 285
PSU: Corsair 620W (CMPSU-620HX)

All of the above components have been tested on both Windows 7 and numourous Linux distros (sans the psu) on an Intel machine and cause me no problems but on this AMD system it freezes. I've had no problems with it under Linux however.

Temperatures are fine, I ran memtest 24hrs and it's fine, both video cards are stable under Linux and on the Intel system. I've tried reformating as well and the problem still persists. Note that the system locks up randomly - regardless of what I'm doing.

Any input would be appreciated.

Could be a video card driver, could be your browser. Lots of possibilities.

Do you know if Windows writes a mimidump? Have you looked in the event logs?

Does it ever lockup when sound is playing? If so, what does the sound do?

What hard drive/SSD do you have? Has it also been tested in another system?
