Random Sudden Intertnet connetion loss

Recently did a format and reinstall on my system
running win xp SP2
never had connection issues prior, and now, ocassionally
I loose connection like I'm being dropped, But
I do believe its something with my system
If I reboot everythings back ok again
getting very annoying when it happens.
Any suggestions? what would cause this?
