Random standby=6800 dying ?

System: AMD Barton 2500, Abit NF7-s, 1gb Ram,Almost dead 6800, SATA Seagate 80GB. 430 wt Thermaltake PS.

Anyway this 6800 will post but randomly sends my monitor into standby, I have updated drivers, rolled back a month to see if it's software related, reinstalled DirectX, removed and cleaned all dust, checked out temps=ok, Nothing seems to work so I have decided to replace the card. Will it be worth it to get a 7600gt or 7800gs or will my processer be a nottle neck ? I would prefer to stay with a Nvidia card.

Ideas or suggestions ?

Go with the 7600GT. It's fast and cheap.

Have you tried another video card in your computer to make sure that's the component giving you problems? If so then I would get 7600gt.
