Random shutdown

hey guys i just got my new msi gts 250 1gb

the problem is my comp just keep on randomly shutting down after putting this card.

My rig:
Amd phenom x2 545 3ghz
msi gts 250 1gb ddr3
4gb ram
msi 785gt e63 motherboard
Tag 450w psu

The card and core in idle
gpu = 40c
cores = 32c

on load
gpu= max reaches 65-70c
cores= 50c

it shutsdown even faster when i play games or use 3d apps.

so i dont think its a heating problem.

is it that my processor cant take the load?
My gpu isnt getting enough power? 450 is the minimum and i got a 450.
Or my card if faulty?

450w no name powersupply. Amps matter and while the PSU probably does put out 450w it likely cannot handle the amps on the 12v line you are drawing. I would look into getting a quality power supply asap. A bad one will take many good parts with it.

Thanks all
but when i only use it to a 100% not less then 90 then only the comp shuts down.. after 5 mins at max.

ill get back to you all..
im going to test with a 750w psu of coolermaster.

The power supply probably has OCP. It's a safety feature that will shut down the unit if power draw goes beyond its limit. Sounds like this is what's happening.

It's 90% your PSU that is causing you problems. If you plan to buy a new one try not to save money on it and buy a decent PSU. PSU is the most important component of the computer and you must be sure that it does its job right.
