I hope this is the right place to put this... my machine(XP Pro) has been acting very strange recently: at totally random times, it powers off without flashing a BSoD (yes, the auto-restart has been disabled), and there is no new entry in the event manager. Sometimes it happens just after booting into the system, other times my computer has been on for 8 hours. Processor stress doesnt seem to be the issue, it sometimes shuts down when idling. At least once I had my eye on the cpu temp just before it shut down, and was running at a cool 35.
As far as hardware, I have:
2600+ mobile barton OC'd to 12.5x166,
ASUS A7n8X-X mobo,
AWARD 430W ps,
Gforce 5200 FX video (pci :disgust: ),
Geil Value Series 512MB PC-3200,
Western digital 80gb, <--primary drive
??dont recall the brand, will check if requested?? 60gb hd,
a lite-on cd burner,
a dvd player

... anything else I need to mention? Oh yes, just once (earlier today) the machine froze when checking the memory (on boot) with a strange muffled beep-type sound that (maybe?) came from a hard drive. Another possible lead... somehow... it seems to shut down about 3 out of 4 days I remote desktop into it from work... but that could also be a coincidence, I dont know. Oh, one more long shot, might it be related to the fact that I just moved into a new apartment? the problem started about 2 weeks after I moved...)

the ps, mobo, processor, memory, cd burner, and hard drive are all relatively new, and the system worked great with this setup for at least a month with no problems.

Any ideas? need any more details? voltage settings? Any ideas would be incredibly helpful. (thanks in advance)
