I am having a problem with my new rig.

MSI Neo2 Platinum Bios 1.36
Athlon64 3500+ @ 2.6Ghz (260X10)
1GB OCZ PC3200 Platinum Rev.2 [2.5-3-3-7]
BFG 6800 GT OC 420/1100
WD 74GB Raptor SATA
Maxtor 200GB SATA
SB Audigy
NEC 2500A
Dell 20" 2005FPW LCD
Koolance PC2-601 Watercooling
Enermax 470W PSU

I moved my Audigy card about a week ago to a different PCI slot. However, I installed the drivers for it over 3 weeks ago. Now this is the only thing I can think of that has changed since I originally setup the machine. Now usually when I am playing winamp and/or using the dvd drive the computer randomly reboots itself. Now it was suggested I may be scewed up the IRQs by moving which slot it was in.........but in device manager I see no such conflict.

Now all I know is that when I am using my dvd drive and sound card I get these weird random reboots. I am at a lose here and I could use some fresh advice on where to look.

All I am left with is possibly doing a reinstall of windows???

Try un-installing the audio drivers and re-installing them. Windows will look for free resources that match a list from the sound card.

Have you done:

Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery Settings

Make sure "Automatically restart" is unchecked under System Failure. Hopefully the next time your computer randomly reboots you'll get to the error screen. Then fixing is alot easier.

Thanks, thats actually great news for me. Now I might be able to see what actually went wrong instead of guessing!

if its the same as mine you might see IRQ not LESS THAT OR EQUAL TO. I backed off my memory timings...and so far no BSOD yet....but it was sporatic anyway, so I will have to give it some time

Yeah my memory timings are really tight right now for what they are supposed to be stock.

2.5-3-3-7 while default is 2-2-2-5.

But I am running at 260fsb or should I say HTT instead of the default 200. I am thinking of loosing it up some more? But on the otherhand I could just try increasing the vdimm?
