Random Reboots Sometimes

I have a two year old home built computer that just started acting up.
Parts:
Socket A for AMD®: Athlon®: 1.2GHz+ CPU
Asus A7V133 Motherboard
256MB of PC 133 DRAM
Vodoo 5500 Video Card

Never overclocked.
Working fine then one day, then it just started restarting randomly after it ran for a while.
Then the next day it started randomly restarting at more frequent intervals.
Then the next day it got stuck in in reboot mode and it gets no where.
Then I tried it a week later and it worked fine for a few days then it got stuck in reboot again.

What do you suggest? Anything would help. Thanks....
I don't want to have to try and swap every part out one at a time, but it doesn't look good.

Qeely,

Welcome to the forums. 🙂

I would try two things:

First, DL memtest and try it. It will create a bootable floppy and let it run overnight.

Second, try another power supply. Use a quality one with 350-400W.

Let us know how it goes.

It might also be worth checking that your processor fan is running properly... the processor overheating could give you symptoms very similar to this.
