Hey guys,

Through a recent upgrade, I now have the following system. Here's the specs.

Seasonic S12 430W PSU
AMD A64 3200+ Venice Core
Gigabyte K8N NF4 Ultra-939 w/ F3 Bios
2x512mB of PQi Turbo
eVGA 6600GT w/ AC Silencer
2x Maxtor Diamondmax 10 300GiB
1x Western Digital Caviar SE 320GiB
NEC DVD R/W

Now onto my problem. I just put this together not too long ago, and I get reboots at random times. I've tried running the latest version of Prime95, and it failed 35 minutes in, saying i had "hardware failure." I figured this was a memory problem, so I loosened the timings from 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 7 to 3.0 - 3 - 3 - 8 2T. With these timings I was getting lock ups in windows, so I set timings back to default. Then I decided to try and run memtest86 with default settings, and that locked up about 5 mins in. Any ideas on what the problem might be guys? Bad motherboard, bad memory? When I ran memtest86 I got no memory errors, it just seemed to stop after 4:56 seconds. Any help/input is appreciated, thanks in advance.

hi. you can try reseating the memory, setting the bios for the ram to the defaults, actually set all in the bios to the setup defaults to make sure nothing is overclocked. try only 1 stick of ram at a time. try each with memtest+ though thats the newer memtest, its v1.4 or higher now to make sure memtest supports you pc. if both sticks fail, or it s-till locks up i am guessing it could be your mobo, this is just a guess though. try your ram in another pc if you can to confirm. oh btw, your mobo does have that ram as "supported" right? that could also be a potential cause...
