Building my rig atm.

Look at the picture of the connectors at the back... I get the SATA data & power, but what the heck is that other 4-pin connector?

That is a jumper block. Jumping the two leftmost pins (if the drive is oriented PCB up) will force the drive to operate in SATA 1.5Gb/s compatibility mode.
