I'm going to purchase an Antec SX1040BII (Performance Series II) that comes with a 400W power supply. Will this power supply be sufficient for an AMD 3200+, Geforce FX5700, on an MSI K8N Neo2 or would it be wise to purchase a power supply with more juice?

This may seem stupid but I can push the AMD 3200+ to a stable 2.4Ghz correct? I plan on using a Thermalright SLK-948 with a 92mm fan for cooling. Should I purchase DDR433 RAM vice DDR400? How large of a difference would 1GB of RAM be compared to 512mb for Doom 3/HL2/Tribes: Vengeance, office apps, web browsing, and IRC?

It's been 3 years since I've done anything with computer components.. quite a bit has changed since then 🙂

I'd at least try the antec psu that comes with the case b4 purchasing another.

Don't have a 64bit chip so can't comment on OCing potential or whether you'd be better off with ddr 433 ram.

The only game I keep hearing that does way better now with 1gig of ram is Far Cry. HL2 isn't even out yet, so who knows?

But I would get the 1 gig cuz I expect more games will be coming which can make use of it.

I don't think office apps, web browsing etc will benefit.
