random question about caller ID

How do you get your name listed on caller id?

I have a buddy who uses sprint wireless, and when the caller ID pops up it has his name.... I use verizon and when I call someone it comes up as District of Columbia....

anybody know how to change that?
 
no idea. about 3 years ago, my cell switched from "unknown caller" to listing my full name and number. I didn't do sqat.

yeah i figured its maybe just the provider that decides to give the generic "state name" or the actual name of the account holder... sprint seems to give the account owners name
 
yeah, now that I think about it, my sister had Verizon, and she showed up at "Indiana Call". She changed over to ATT about 6 months ago, and she's either "private number" or "unknown caller" now.
 
our is private for people blocking there celly # and some are full name and MOST sasy Celluar Caller.
