Ive been having this problem for 2 days now and i cant stand it anymore... my computer just keeps rebooting for no reason, displaying a blue screen and saying stuff like :

page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
stop : 0x00000050
portcls.sys crashed blabla

stop : 0x0000008e
win32k.sys crashed etc....

does anyone know what this is all about? i tried formatting, i was installing directx when it rebooted suddenly for no reason and then i decided why not install SP2... but it does the same thing :/

Could you list your system specs?

Did this suddenly just happen or is this a new build?

You can try using memtest to see if its the memory which it sounds like. You could also flash BIOS for the motherboard, that could help also.

Well this isnt really a new build, i changed my motherboard to a msi 865pe neo2 platinum and added a 3ghz from intel...

i did a format when i installed the new board, started installing my stuff and then all of a sudden it started crashing (tried SP2 after both formats and doesnt work)

p4 3ghz 800mhz fsb 1mb cache
MSI 865PE Neo2 Platinum
256mb of ram 266mhz
ati radeon 9600xt
windows xp pro sp1 (installed sp2 after)

Could it be the RAM, I notice its only 266mhz. Do you have acess to DDR 3200?
