Here is the setup:
AMD Athlon 1GHz
Windows 2000
Adelphia Cable Modem
Netgear RT314 Router (Latest firmware)
3COM 3C905 NIC (Latest driver)
Three computers are connected to the router, a Windows 98 machine, a Windows ME machine, and a Windows 2000
The Windows 2000 machine is the one have all the problems. At times, the machine runs just fine. But sometimes, randomly, internet access is lost. ICQ can't connect, can't surf the web, basically nothing. I run IPCONFIG, and I still have a 192.168.0.x address, and I am able to ping the router, but I can't get pass the router. Can't ping any external IP address basically.
In order to fix this, all I have to do is reboot, and that basically fixes the problem.
So my question is, what is going on? Why am I randomly losing internet access, even though I have an IP address and can see the router?
Your help is well appreciated!
