Random Lockups with warcraft 3

I am playing warcraft 3, and I experience random lockups, and system crashes. I have the original asus a7v, and geforce2 gts from creative. Is there something I can do? Also, will upgrading to a geforce 4 ti4200 be able to solve these problems or is it because of something else? The later option is just that, an option. I am not sure I will. Any input would help. Thanks.

edit: also, since the a7v has a 4x agp port, and the new ti4200 cards are 8x, how will that affect performance for me?
