hmmm... i noticed a slight click noise yesterday when my comp locked up. it's easier to hear now that i have that mammoth volcano11 fan out of there. i just took out the main OS drive, formatted on another, and started over. guess the odds of getting 2 bad hdd's in a row are pretty high when it comes to WD. pc has been up for more than 9 hours..... so far....... we'll see how this fares out. perhaps i should try to rma this thing, but WD is such a pain to get an rma through. last time it took about 7 weeks before i got my drive back.

wahooo! guess what still isn't fixed!!! came on my comp this morning at it was froze. looks like that hdd wasn't the only thing wrong with it. that was just causing it to lock up after a few hours, the comp went about 2 days before it locked up this time. any thoughts? :p

Did you get around to trying a different OS? I remember we were discussing doing it but can't remember if you did or not. It is possible it is being caused by a dodgy winxp install because of the disk. I would say to try 2k pro if you haven't already done so...
