Random lines while playing a DVD full screen

When playing a DVD in full screen mode, random lines on the screen are offset a few pixels to the right (and the lines constantly change making it look like there's a slight breeze blowing in from the left...)

There's no problem w/ playing the DVD in a window and the problem also goes away if I switch my LCD to a non native resolution (my native res is 1680x1050) and play full screen...

I have a Dell 2005fpw and a Geforce 6800gt. I've tried both PowerDVD and WinDVD and they both have this problem.

I'm inclined to think that its some kind of memory offset problem when writting to video memory...

Anyone encounter this before?

edit: corrected a typo.

Not sure I can picture your problem but I'm having a similar sounding problem with my Viewsonic VP201b LCD. When the background is dark enough I can see small, white, horizontal lines flickering all over the screen. If I drop the resolution to 1280x1024 it goes away, but this LCD has a native resolution of 1600x1200. I'm not sure what the deal is, the LCD is brand new. Did you solve your problem?

Nope, never did. I get around the problem by adding a new resolution option to my graphics card (1672x1045) that's only slightly smaller than my native resolution (1680x1050) and running it w/o stretch. I switch over to it when I play a DVD. I'd imagine the the quality with this would be better than if I switched it down to a much lower res.
