Random Laptop Shutdown Problem??? Help please?

Hey guys, one of my friends has a HP Pavilion N5470 Laptop. And it shuts down randomly on her. To my knowledge it runs on an AMD Athlon 1ghz, the rest of the specs listed here I myself have no idea why its shutting down, dont have much experience with laptops... my guess is that the processor is overheating and its just failsafing by turning itself off... but does that happen with laptops?

any ideas? This is apparently the only problem with it...

Yes, heat could very well be the problem, and it does happen with laptops. Is the laptop cooling fan running before this happens? If not, it should be. If it is not coming on properly, then the system would shut down abruptly.
